Someone once said that “sisters are different flowers from the same garden” (Unknown) and our garden was in full bloom last Thursday. After some lively networking time, we sat for dinner at stunning tables decorated by Ekima Roper-Smith and her team at The Five Party and Event Center. The beautiful centerpieces designed by the students from Amanda Greenwood’s Petals that Inspire set the tone for a dinner full of deep discussions, laughter, and tears.

Catered by Chaneice fed our bellies, while our table leaders led each table through an intentional discussion of sisterhood. The language of flowers dictated our table conversations (see below).

While our conversation details are reserved for the women who were in the room, each conversation brought us closer together and further strengthened our bonds of sisterhood.

After dinner, while enjoying the most amazing cupcakes from Juana Williams’ J’s Sweet Treats & Wedding Cakes, all 50+ women in attendance got a chance to introduce themselves to the group with much laughter and joy all around. Hanging out afterwards, our sisters got a chance to enjoy the luxury photo booth provided by H&H Luxury (so easy to use with quick text messages of pictures!).

Serena Shi, freelance photographer, captured moments and memories of our time together. A few of those photos are below; view the full set here.
